Soil moisture sensors turn guesswork into actionable data—but only when they are installed and calibrated correctly.
Match the sensor to the media
Container mixes, coco coir, and field soil all behave differently. Choose sensors rated for your substrate and expected moisture range.
Placement matters
Install sensors where roots are actively feeding, not at the driest edge of a bench. For mixed crops, dedicate sensors per zone instead of sharing one reading across unlike plants.
Set thresholds with intent
Trigger irrigation when moisture drops below a target, but include a minimum interval so the system does not short-cycle during fluctuating conditions.
